The withdrawals chart compares 3 strategies for decumulation:

Withdrawals based on Spending Needs: Withdrawals are only made for Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) and projected spending needs.

Maximum Spending: If you have excess savings after setting up your plan, this strategy solves how much you can spend per year while still achieving your legacy goal. You can continue to edit income, expenses, and savings, and this strategy automatically determines how much additional you can still spend and hit your goal.

Fixed Percentage Withdrawals: This is calculated as a percentage of your total savings balance at your start age and then adjusted for inflation. The system ensures that your minimum fixed percentage withdrawal is met. However, in many cases, this goal may be achieved via already planned RMDs and projected spending. If needed, an additional amount is withdrawn and assumed to be spent.
